Re: Volvo 850 T5 - Old chiptuning (SAM)
North America feeds 240 VAC 60 Hz to residences but most applicances are 120 VAC using only one phase of the feed. Exceptions are large current devices like Air conditioners, (hot) Water heaters, hot tubs, fast car chargers, and electric chairs in dungeons.

Re: V70 2.4T High Idle after head gasket job
Hello. After i bought new screws and checked the manifold it appeared to still be leaking. I bought a vape at the local drugstore and blew some smoke into the manifold. My injectors gaskets are dead, even if new ! Not oem ones... 3 of the 5 injectors were leaking air. I ordered new ones, I guess it ...

Re: Exhaust manifold to catalytic converter nuts and studs rust welded
Thanks. After a few hours of practice, I was able to remove two studs from the spare manifold. Frequent applications of heat and oil were the solution. I used a Dremel to shave off the back of each bolt, breaking that rust bond and allowing oil to penetrate the clean cut. I used a blow torch to heat...

Re: ABS system work fixed my odometer but not my speedo
Seems to have been fixed by using better quality contact cleaner for the instrument cluster harness connector, one that removes oxidation and not just contaminants. Hopefully this helps someone.

Re: Front seat shock unit
Good morning! In my 94 T5 the driver's seat wont come up to a woman-friendly seat height because the shock (or how would that shock shaped cartridge actually be called) that is supposed to push the seat up seems to be shot. I can move it upward for my wife manually, but this is not very practical. ...

Re: Front seat shock unit
Yes this is only on manual P80 seats. Haven't had one of those in many years but do know of them. Sorry, no idea on if/how to remove the shock unit. This Volvo parts drawing for a manual seat base shows the shock (NLA naturally now!). It shows it is held in place at the top by a locking wire. At the...

I miss you guys
Wrong forum, I know, but I miss you guys, yes specifically P80. I spent six weeks providing 24/7 care for a family member, then got a month at home where I wrestled some necessary repairs on the rusty 2000 V70 Geronimo which my girlfriend is relying on. Now I'm back providing care again, likely for ...

Re: clutch pedal stays down
.
Try bleeding the system first. Perhaps a clog has caused the fork to remain depressed.

Re: clutch pedal stays down
Release bearing has likely jammed. You need to get under the car and can you remove the rubber gaiter from the selector fork and have a look inside? You may be able to get a long screwdriver in there and persuade it back. Otherwise as the guys have suggested one of the 2 hydraulic units has a failed...
