Re: 05 V70 spongy pedal after front brake job
You have installed the anti rattle springs wrong. I have done it on Saabs and a Volvo. If they are not correct the peddle will be spongy. Look at your rear caliper to see that you have the spring on the wrong side of the caliper bracket flange.

Re: 05 V70 spongy pedal after front brake job
I have done this too many times on Saabs and now I did it on my Son's Volvo S60. As soon as I hit the peddle I know what I did. I just do not do it often enough to remember the orientation of the spring. Lets face it it looks and installs just fine when you do it wrong and that does not help. I am g...

Re: 05 V70 spongy pedal after front brake job
I found when replacing the front strut to do this helps. Put your jack stands in alignment with the ball joints on the lower control arms with the jack stands supporting the car on the subframe. With the weight of the car on the jack stands run a ratchet strap under the jack stands and secure the ho...

Re: 2008 S60 2.5T Fwd Turbo Removal
I like the ratchet that you suggested. I did not use it much with the turbo because I could reach anything I needed with conventional tools after the car "gave birth" to that turbo heat shield out the bottom. I could even get a 3/8" torque wrench to my banjo bolts to torque them to sp...

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
I had a SAAB 9-5 about kick my butt regarding this topic of setting the emissions code. Turned out you had to run the A/C and the rear defogger at the same time for a period of time to get them to set. Strange but that is what it took per a Mechanic that I consulted that told me this trick. I am not...

Re: Replaced PCV Diaphragm Weird Noise
Pull the oil stick to break the crankcase vacuum and see if the noise stops. If so, something went wrong with your diaphragm install in my opinion.

Re: Running issue 2008 Volvo XC70 3.2 230K miles
New Diagnostic Development. I decided to walk back out to my car. I cranked it and it ran as normal without the noise. I then put my finger over the hole in the PCV diaphragm cap and the valve started making a slight horn sound at the valve a little like it did when I pulled the dipstick earlier. Th...

Re: Running issue 2008 Volvo XC70 3.2 230K miles
I changed out my PCV diaphragm, spring and cap with the Dorman part this morning. I first thought there was nothing wrong with the one that I removed but upon closer inspection it had a tear in the edge next to the thicker sealing ring of the diaphragm. I used a Popsicle stick inserted into the mid ...
