You knowingly put plugs with different threads into a soft aluminum head? I would worry more about the now damaged threads in the head. If it is running fine and you are blessed that one or more does not blow out, I would never, ever, ever remove them again. June

You may also check the VVT hubs. One of mine sprung a leak around 180K. I noticed several other posts with leaky VVT hubs around 180K. June

Here in Florida when Volvo Dealer Castrol Synthetic was being used in my S80 they put 10W30 out of bottles in and 5W30 during winters. My T6 is a 2.9 and a sister to your 960's six. Have you changed the oil in the axle? Also have the driveshaft checked. Maybe one of the joints is on it's way out. June
