Re: 1999 v70 xc transmission, has a master mechanic and specialty shop stumped
Misha. Not sure the V70XC had a 5 speed auto. My 98 had a 4 speed, and I thought in North America only the V/S70 base got the 5 speed auto in 2000 MY as well as the 'R'. Neil. My 98 I'm pretty sure had a 4 speed. It used Dextron rather than the newer type 4 fluid. I bought many quarts at gas statio...

Re: Burned Valve Database DATA ONLY or a P0455 code will be set
Thanks jimmy, Ill put a thread on this together for reference. Im sure you are right and AC OFF was for drive cycle reasons. Since you quoted me on this subject I thought I would add I have always run my S80 at 5000 rpm for five minutes a couple times a year. (Right after a oil change always) At 19...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
What do you think of this 2004 2.5T V70 (YV1SW59VX42408691) for $4200? https://raleigh.craigslist.org/ctd/d/raleigh-2004-volvo-v70-25t/7080189134.html Screen Shot 2020-02-25 at 8.18.28 PM.png Too much money! Broken ac vents, drooping sunshade, bad leather on seat and steering wheel, and at 129K you...

Re: '04 XC90 SRS system repair after deployment
When completed, I really would like to see a breakdown of exactly what you have to buy new, can buy used, and incidental expenses. I have been here since 2016 an have watched for a thread like this. I know the lousy insurance company would try and total my 2004 S80 if bags deploy. I won't let that h...

Re: ABS - is that normal?
If you stomped the breaks with your full force at speed, than yes perfectly normal no matter what tires or road conditions the ABS should kick in. If your stopping distance is long with working ABS during panic stop, that is tires or aftermarket pads, or a combination of the two. June

Re: Opinion needed: 2001 S60 T5 VS 2005 S80 T6 driver seat comfort
I understood you were buying seats. Most are put off of buying a S80 2.9 or T6 because of all the hype passed around the internet over the Hydramatic transmission. In my pre children life (1980s through the mid 1990s) I was a secretary in the service department of a Buick dealer. I stubbed enough ti...

Re: Opinion needed: 2001 S60 T5 VS 2005 S80 T6 driver seat comfort
In some literature my interior was called the Sport interior, other years the Studio interior. Ford years were just strange. For the early 2004 year it was still the sport interior. The Sport interior came available with standard leather, or upgraded leather with leather sides and back. Forgot to me...

Re: 2000 S70 AWD - Seafoam "Spray" treatment
Only buy the Genuine Volvo update banjo bolt! It has a steel ball that can get loose and destroy a cylinder effectively ruining the engine. My 2004 had the old design still, so your 2001 definitely has it. Buy this part from the dealer to ensure a Genuine part. What's $20 compared to the disaster of...
