Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Thank you for the response, and I hope you are right! I was watching a Robert Spinner video (Robert DIY), where he recommends trying something less "aggressive" first, like Lucas Oil. So I may go that route. It would be nice if it's just a stuck ring vs. a burnt valve (I hear those are qu...

Re: New to me 850 turbo sedan
More likely the fuel pump or fuel pump relay than injectors. Get a cheap tire gauge (will be destroyed unless you have a fuel pressure gauge) and check fuel pressure at the schrader valve after prime (before start), then at idle and report back.

Re: Fuel Problems
Best cat for fuel economy is no cat or a free flowing cat. Crappy gas mileage can be any number of things, including worn ignition components, dirty injectors, clogged PCV, stuck brake caliper, no compression, and bad vacuum leaks. You will get misfires on a non turbo if the exhaust is dumping right...

Re: Fuel Problems
Yes you can, been driving with the downstream O2 sensor unplugged for 30k miles. Runs great, no limp mode, get 2 codes relating to bank1sensor2 voltage and heater circuit malfunction. Gas mileage is normal. Goes into closed loop. LTFT doesn't do anything weird. If I plug the sensor in, car runs exa...

Re: 1996 850 2.3T blown #2 Rod at 208k
AFAIK, An NA, low-pressure turbo, and high-pressure turbo engines should fit in all P80 chassis. One of the pros of modular design. Just make sure you grab the right ECU.

Re: clicking noise on 98 s70
Is it more of a clicking, or a rattling? Does the noise occur when reving the engine in neutral while stationary? Could be lifter tick, which is a sign the oil pickup seals need replacing.

Re: Dome light near rear view
Last I went shopping for lights, I believe Philips made LEDs that were direct replacement for the dome lights, license plate light, and turn signal/ brake lights.

Re: We lost FCP as a sponsor
This is very sad. I love FCP, but recently their parts catalogue and customer service has been lacking. On the other hand, I just discovered eEuroparts now offers a limited lifetime replacement on parts bought through them, so I may be giving them more business from now on.

Re: If you hate your door chime...
The seat belt reminder goes off 5 times and shuts up (I usually buckle up before than anyway). The 'open door keys in ignition' chime is nice cause I seem to forget my keys quite frequently now that my 'door open' sensor stopped working. I do wish it would shut up if the engine was on though when I ...
