Re: '04 Transmission FWD rebuild?
How many miles on it? I had about 220,000 miles on mine and it was displaying symptoms of a transmission failure/ slipping, etc. After some research I concluded that the symptoms could be rectified with a valve body kit and rebuilding or replacing the linear solenoids. I see a lot of xc 70's and V70...

Re: Lever on rear lower left of driver's seat
If its the black one on the back by the seat base it will release the upper seat to fold up towards the steering wheel. There should be one on the drivers and passenger seat. Send a picture so I know which lever you're talking about.

Re: Bevel gear and Collar Sleeve Welding project
Bevel gear install: Bevel Gear went in fine today but I ran out of time and didn't get the propshaft reinstalled. New Bolts.jpg I learned something new regarding the top two 13mm bolts for the BG though: if you maneuver your hand through the exhaust/cat tunnel by the O2 sensor wire, you can easily a...

Re: Bevel gear and Collar Sleeve Welding project
Update: three days of hard driving and washboard gravel roads and highway driving totalling 1200 kms and all’s well! No vibration, leaks or strange noises. I tried to put the welded sleeve through it’s paces to ensure it wouldn’t fail and it held solid. I feel with this setup that there should be no...

Re: 2006 2.5T AWD - Stage Zero Preventative Maintenance - Angle Gear, Haldex, and Rear Diff
You might want to look into changing the three motor mounts at that mileage, not too bad of a job. I had a collapsed passenger side and a split rear motor mount that I just changed. You couldn't see the split until it was off the car. Other than that, emergency brake shoes are probably worn out or d...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
If you’re that far into it take the knuckle off and press it in with the bench vise. Or a ball joint press. Mine sucked in pretty easy with the bolts but I think they were changed once before. You really don’t want to screw up these threads!

P80 P2 Subframe Bushing installation with pictures 3507923
Just completed installing 4 subframe bushings and new spring seats with genuine Volvo parts. Its a pretty straightforward job for those contemplating it. I didn't document the spring seat install as it is a simple process. Subframe bushings should take 3 or 4 hours with hand tools, nothing special r...

Re: Paint Care and Plastic trim
Thanks for all the ideas, I think I will try that product that nucci recommended. I don't want to spend a lot of money and just want the car to look its best. I have a pretty good Simomize car polisher that I haven't used and have a lot of time on my hands. Going to try the Forever Black product for...

Re: AOD/ DEM quit today
Well I think I definitively determined the problem. I put 12 volts to the pump and no life in either direction. That Dorman pump lasted 6 months. I'll order a new Volvo one today and look forward to another day lying under the car
Might as well change the fluid and filter again too.
