Re: Seat Cover Removal 12 XC90, 09 S80 & 02 V70XC
Yes, Ive done it with vehicles in the auto wreckers. I assume you're talking about seat skins? You'll need a sturdy pair of side cutters to cut the hog rings, also a long thin pick to get into the hog rings alongside the console to remove them. Also search the video of how to remove Volvo headrests ...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Open the door and look at the rears next time......hopefully they are spinning too, go do this test in a vacant parking lot. My Haldex pump on the new car packed it in so I received order of a bunch of parts and will do a tutorial in the new year. Hopefully yours is still working. Check #19 fuse in ...

Re: '02 V70 XC: Rear diff gears vs Haldex pump vs. What's next?
Here's the difference between the early casting on the left, and the 2003 forward casting on the right. The flange is held on by a 24mm nut and is about 1/3 inch shorter on the 2003 onward models.

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Installed some Skandix mudflaps since the Volvo ones are NLA. Im pretty impressed with the quality and fit of these, having installed the Volvo brand ones on my last XC. Also had the rear bumper off in a failed attempt to fix my parking sensors. I'll have another attempt at it when I install the tra...

Re: Air Bag Removal
Excellent! Maybe post a thread on the forum with pictures of how to do it. I learned something too, didn't know there was a different type of retainer used for the airbag in '07.

Re: Does a replacement DIM override the milage?
On my '03 a replacement DIM needed to be cloned so I had my original rebuilt at XeMoDeX. You can drive it without the DIM but all sorts of things will not work, door locks, power windows, cruise, etc. Do disconnect your battery when removing it also.

Re: What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?
Christmas Baking! Each year I bake a dozen or so Quebec Tortierre pies for gifting. A Tortierre is a spiced meat pie with a very savoury flavour including cloves, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg with celery and potato inside. This year, 25 pounds of pork and beef filling yielded 17 pies, we always kee...

Re: Have I brainwashed my friends to buy P2 Volvos?
Yeah, and my neighbour's daughter bought that C-30 this summer with the expectation that I'd be able to fix it when it breaks, and the landscaper has an S-60 in Red in need of many repairs.........maybe I should retire early and we can open a Volvo indie shop Neil!
