Re: After -10, you just die faster
I must withdraw my know it all lecturing - Last night in -15, I proceeded to do a bonehead move. I drove my M-I-L and other seniors to a college basketball game so they wouldn’t have to walk in the wind and start a cold car. I got them up close to the door but had to go through the parking lot fee ...

Re: Haldex Oil Pump Replacement
Report back how long the Borg Warner lasts for and how much it costs, I had a Dorman pump that went after about 6 months, then I sprung for the Volvo one and it's been good for 5 years. I was unsuccessful with rebuilding the original pump but some have had success.

Re: FUYAO Windshield
I've got a FUYAO, I don't think they're any good, Chinese windshield. All these windshield shops put in Chinese windshield now though of some brand or other that you wouldn't recognize the name of. The Pilkington you had may have been original or the PO was very particular, they are OEM and very goo...

Re: Please explain wheel OFFSET.
The offset on the factory wheels is 50mm. You don't want to get too far away from that otherwise you run into problems with steering and suspension geometry and to a lesser extent clearance issues. The optimum offset is the one the Volvo engineers designed into the factory wheels........which is 50mm.

Re: 07 XC70 jerky, then drivetrain does not engage, anti-skid light
I would consider disconnecting the DEM power supply while you troubleshoot, that will isolate the front ( transmission, CV Axles, etc) . There’s nothing likely catastrophically wrong with the angle gear and points aft. I don’t understand why the propshaft would spin with the car not moving but the h...

Re: 2009 S60 AWD Drive Shaft Noise
I would disassemble the propshaft CV joints and clean and relubricate them. You can also remove the angle gear and inspect it and change the fluid, it's not as difficult or time consuming as removing the propshaft. You can still drive the vehicle with both of these components removed while you compl...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Installed some nice shiny "Jewel" taillights that my friend scot850 harvested from the wrecking yard. I've always wanted a set of these! Jewel.jpg . Oh my! Was going to ask the question of how to replace the rear assembly on the 02 V70 XC. The rear lower passenger assembly has a huge crac...

Re: NEW TOPIC *** JUNKYARD REQUESTS *****
That shouldn't be difficult in the area where you are. I can get one from here but the shipping would likely be prohibitively expensive. There's 2 of them in the local auto wreckers right now, probably less than $30 CDN. Do you want me to look into shipping?
