Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Had the pleasure of replacing a balljoint today. Axle seal won’t be in until tomorrow so I kept myself busy after work. What a joke! Air hammer they said. Brass punch they said. I tried both for well over an hour to no avail. Had to use a 3lb sledge hammer with an extremely hard pointed chisel to sl...

Re: Towing a barge with an XC wagon

Don't do it. It's not worth the risk of overheating your transmission. We towed a pop up camper weighing about 2500lbs with our 99' XC twice a year. Not even very far away, basically in Southern New England. At 52k the transmission went and had to be replaced. Mind you, we talked to the dealer befor...

Re: Towing a barge with an XC wagon

Europeans run lower tongue weights for one simple reason, they drive slower. I learned this is true - Most European countries by law limit towing vehicles to 80 kph / 50 mph. Period. Suspension Noise / Broken & missing lower control arm bolt SOLVED

Weird noise from lower suspension while moving the car off the driveway. Kind of a knocking noise. Wife returns later from shopping and brings me a nut with a short piece of broken bolt in the nut. WOW! This was from a broken lower control arm bolt. The long part of the bolt fell out and was missing...
