Re: 1987 244 Volvo revival

I was able to work on the 240 some today. While installing my make shift fuel pressure gauge, I found I had missed one of the fuel injector ground wires to the fuel rail mount. I also cleaned the oily spark plugs again. After reassembly, fuel pressure reached 34-36 PSI. A few more cranks and IT STAR...

Re: 1999 V70 Oblong holes on wheels

I veto using them if they do not have good, uniform, round holes on the front side that the lug bolt can fit tight. Over size and out of round bolt pattern will not center well on the hub, places bending stress on the bolts, and may work loose. I don't trust them for anything.

Re: Near-collision II: Austin 2/4

A former head of the NTSB did an analysis from the ADS-B ( Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast ) data, and during a TV interview pointed out that the tail of a 737 is 41 feet tall; the data shows the FedEx plane didn't arrest the descent until it was 75 feet above the ground, and it was direc...

Re: What killed my S70 T5M... Place your bets

I think rod and/or main bearing major failure is detected with a Fluke test and not a UOI sample. Set meter to ohms and stick it into debris in bottom of pan. 2 ohms or lower is really bad.

Re: 04 S60 2.5T Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir Leak

Owning both 2004 V70 2.5T (early 2004 model) and 2007 S60 2.5T created some confusion for me lol. Today, I have some free time, so I am putting together relevant info for everyone. - FCPEuro.com website as well as dealer websites can be confusing and inaccurate! They state chassis number etc. etc. I...

Re: DIY: P2 S60, V70 2.5T Washer Fluid Reservoir and Washer Pump Info"

Thanks abscate. - Just crawled under and looked at my 2005 XC90 2.5T for fun lol... This washer pump has 2 ports (Black and White). - The washer pump is located aft of the reservoir, with a small piece of wood (2x4), one can push the plastic liner away a bit to replace the washer pump without the ne...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Missed my 10 year MVS anniversary last week. Generally I won’t join any club that will have me as a member.

Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread

You know more than I do, but I think the 220, 240, 300 were similar mechanically. At some point wasn't there a 5 or 6 cylinder diesel? I think my B-I-L had a 220 in Ft Collins, eventually gave it away. I don't know how I missed this post last month. Mercedes made 220, 240, 300 and maybe a 200 in so...

On sunny (but still wet/cold-39F) days like this, I look longingly at the 850 that's waiting for me
🥶???
Just realized that looks like negative 39. It was above zero, not below....actually reached low 40s.
