Re: Scotty Kilmer ATP AT-205 Re-Seal Stops Leaks
Scotty Kilmer frightens me every time I see one of his videos. He either hates Nissans or loves Volvos or thinks electric cars are trash or moans about transverse mounted engines. Sometimes I think he’s run out of oxygen and his mouth is on auto pilot. I basically do the opposite of what he preaches...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Got all the exhaust manifold bolts removed, all but 1 stud came out with the nuts. Now the coolant lone is giving me a lot of grief. How do I remove this lower bolt? I can get a 10mm box end wrench on but it's touching on both sides so you can't actually turn the wrench. Sockets will fit but the ra...

A few photos from our 25th anniversary weekend trip to Kennebunkport, Maine. We escaped the rain and had a wonderful time exploring the area. We took Frieda the 240 which made the trip even more special. IMG_1775.jpg img_1776.jpg img_1778.jpg IMG_1782.JPG IMG_1784.JPG IMG_1789.JPG IMG_1790.JPG IMG_1...

Re: Will this valve spring compressor work?
Most likely, yes, but I think it will be a nightmare to keep it perpendicular to the head. Not unlikely you'll launch a couple of springs to outer space and make a couple of head scars. In general, you do not want to use cheap tools to service expensive or hard to access parts. Here's me using OTC 4...

Re: Photography thread
Peculiar coincidence - the natural slosh frequency of the Bay of Fundy happens to be the same as the tidal period, so it perfectly resonates with the moon and sun tidal pull About 10 feet at the mouth, 50 feet at the top. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bay+of+fundy+time+lapse&view=detail&a...

Re: question on reusing bolts as part of rear caliper rebuild
Can’t be a lot of torkx on 7mm, that’s the size I snapped off inside the cam holder. I've found anything critical I replace hardware on now. Why? Like you, I snapped off a bolt on a cam cover/cam bearing on a Ninja 650 and spent several months trying ever more creative (dangerous) ways of removing ...

Re: Bumper / rubber / trim goop scam?
Good question. Looks pretty good for a scam, but with what they can do, who knows. I've been using 303 protectorate for quite awhile, and I like it, but it does need to be reapplied often. I knew a guy who swore by the lubricant that you use for wet location electrical connections. It looked good, b...

Re: Visiting Sweden
I've been there multiple times. Absolutely beautiful country! My first time camping with a bunch of friends on the coast outside Gothenburg when I was 20. We actually drove by the Volvo factory and had no clue. At that time I didn't know much about Volvos although I already liked them. Go if you ca...
