Re: convince me it's worth fixing my headlight wipers (98 S70)
Go to Wal-mart purchase one of those packs of googly eyes, now place one on the car on the headlight where the wiper setup is basically dead. Tell them the car has been improved with "A EYE" and watch them think you now have artificial intelligence in the car. Sit and watch in wonder as th...

Re: What oil sample analysis service do you use?
+1 Blackstone labs is awesome. That oil doesn't look that bad for a turbo-charged vehicle and may be fine, Blackstone will tell you with a scientific determination - is this driven highway miles or mostly local? If local it wouldn't surprise me if the car is only used for short trips. Any oil consum...

Re: 2000 S70 GLT only starts after the battery has been disconnected
Have we verified the coils are receiving both 5V (pulsed) and 12V constant when cranking? The 5V signal is supplied by ECU, 12V usually switched battery - possibly through a relay. Re: Key removed, but V70XC thinks key is still in ignition

Pull the steering wheel towards you as far as the travel will go and they should come out. The ignition switch comes out with t...

PSA - 99 V70 AWD drive axles - Check and tighten
If you start getting unexplained engagement of the STC/ABS on a AWD check and verify the drive axle bolts are tight. I found the passenger's side wasn't torqued to spec. I'm unsure if it ever was as no work was performed on it during my ownership. Special thanks to Matty Moo. If I ever require a rep...
