Re: Key will not turn anything on

I believe there is a cable that goes between the battery and the main fuse box. I'd check this as they are known to go bad.

Re: 1999 Volvo V70 (base) Quit for No Reason?

When was the fuel filter last replaced? I think sometimes they disintegrate and clog producing little to no fuel pressure. It is my belief this was one of the problems I had initially when I got my car.

Re: volvo airbag delete

Technically all the SIPS, ETC can be removed. Not saying I'd want to do it, or would recommend doing it, but from a technical standpoint they can be removed - just like safeties on industrial equipment, furnaces, and weapons... I wonder what the insurance company's take will be on it in the event th...

Re: 1999 Volvo V70 (base) Quit for No Reason?

I suggest pulling a spark plug & coil out, hooking up a jumper for ground and trying to crank it, look for a spark. Could still be the immobilizer circuit. If you have someone with VIDA locally, you may find codes set that OBDII won't show. The immobilizer on these cars will allow you to crank i...

Re: 1999 Volvo V70 (base) Quit for No Reason?

Leave coil hooked up - think it's a 4 or 5 pin connector... Then place a ground wire to the spot circled in blue, and also place one to the outside of the spark plug to ground. When cranking, you should see a bright spark. Don't run one to the X marked location - center electrode or you'll never get...

Re: swapping inline 5 cylinder engines

I believe the answer is going to be don't do it - it's a bigger problem than it's worth but don't quote me on it. I believe this is one of those Misha questions - if it's possible, he's done it in Siberia. If it isn't possible - more likely than not it is going to be an issue with engine management ...

It's SERBIA!
'99 to '95 is ok as long as you keep the manifolds from '95 and cvvt unplugged.
'95 to '99 isn't possible because of cvvt.
Whoops, sorry about that! =)

Re: Diary of a 17 y/o with an 850

At least remove that duct tape and try some form of epoxy or see if you can replace what was broken.
