Re: Immobilizer question
So is there any programming requirements or anything if I end up replacing the antenna key ring/immobilizer with a new one? If that is the culprit? If you can find a good antenna ring, I'd throw that on. Frankly it's a great item to keep in the glove box. No programing required for just replacing t...

Re: 98 S70 Steering Rack Blown
Btw: A guy on Swedespeed runs his 850 without a p/s pump. He blocked the lines so no fluid escapes. No more blown seals from high pressure I guess, but parallel parking in a tight spot must be quite a challenge, I guess. Manually moving a hydraulic assembly without the benefit of pressure (lubricat...

Re: P80 Inspection, service and repair check list
The idea came about now that I have occasionally helped other local owners, but then we also get a number of new to P80 owners who may be able to use this eventually to get to know their cars more fully and areas that may be issues going forward. I wanted to try to make sure I kind of had a full ca...

Re: 1998 V70 Base - Different Lower Radiator Hoses
There is a chassis break change on the lower radiator hose in 98-99. The earlier hose is longer with the curved end. Earlier hose “fits” both if you cram the extra on, but to get the factory fit you need the right part FCP has the wrong fitment in their catalog but some wanker points this out in re...

Re: ECM-644A VVT Stuff...
Hi, i exhume this thread, but are you sure of the counter-clockwise way? As you said in anotjher thread: "IF the Flank Angle is positive, the Crankshaft reaches the mark before CAM reference mark, so the cam sprocket needs to be moved clockwise to retard the CAM" So if this got +14/15° (w...

Re: Help me save Christmas! 98 V70 no start/rough start
When you get the new MAF, clean up your connections and hit them with a little dielectric grease, just a smidge, don't overdo it. This should eliminate the potential of corrosion in the future. Also repair the split loom if it's looking ratty, which it should be by this point.

Re: Head swap vs remanufacturing head on current car
If you have to swap valves, make sure to lap them in, don't just drop them in.

Re: ECM-644A VVT Stuff...
Hello, So I did the belt timing as I received the locking tool. Didn't care about the marks, i Aligned crankshaft then put the locking tool, and preloaded the vvt then put the belt. The preload did not take full course in the slotted holes si I Guess it is ok. Car run fine now and no dtc code . One...

Re: P80 Exhaust CVVT solenoid part number - 1275579
I believe, but don't quote me on this, that there is at least two different part numbers possible. I believe one has what I like to call the coil with extension and thus is longer, and a shorter one like that used on my 99 XC. I am guessing but unsure that the valving assemblies are likely different...
