Re: Volvo xc90 2013 headlights come on randomly
I'd unplug the switch just to see if it happens without it plugged in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SIyiCz-hxQ Otherwise, it is considered by many, myself included, to have a VIDA/Dice diagnostic unit especially if the dealer is distant. The Volvo tool for diagnostic is called VIDA Dice. The VID...

Phantom Door Locking
Hi, the front drivers side door on my 2006 XC90 randomly locks when I close it. No difference if it is the only door unlocked or if all doors are unlocked. Any ideas as to what is going on here?
Thanks
Thanks

VIDA Instructions
A cross-post:
I had looked in the past to no avail, but just ran across the Volvo VIDA Help instructions online here and thought I'd post it up: https://autoscaners.ru/data/volvo%20dic ... -en-GB.pdf
Probably a lot doesn't pertain, but some good info.

Re: AC on full blast when car starts up
Do you mean that the engine cooling fan runs at very high speed when the car is started? That is what mine did when the A/C had been overfilled with refrigerant. Here is my thread on that: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=85640&start=10 Not sure what you mean whe...

Check to see if you are getting fuel pressure at the rail. Use a rag to catch spray/excess fuel and depress the shrader valve on the fuel rail.

Re: 2009 Volvo XC90 - Hella Turbo Actuator Replacement
We don't have the D5 here in the USA. I looked a little bit online and it appears that which Turbo Actuator you have depends on the horsepower (hp) of the engine in your XC90. Here is a link to a VIN decoder. If you enter the Vehicle Identification Number here, it will tell you what hp your engine h...

Re: 2009 Volvo XC90 - Hella Turbo Actuator Replacement
Based on what I see, the G-27 is for the 163hp version. The G-26 is for the 185hp version. The part is not available from Volvo, they only ever sold it as a complete unit with the turbocharger attached. The only choices, then, are a new (China) knockoff unit or a re-manufactured Hella unit. Here is ...

Re: Old transmission fluid change… Risks/Benefits… 2006 XC90
Assuming that this is the 2.5T. You can just do staggered partial drain and fills on this one relatively easily. On mine, with the car off, I just drain the pan, measure, then add back that amount of new fluid. A few weeks later, do it again four times in total. I feel like it's a lot less dramatic ...

Re: 2009 Volvo XC90 - Hella Turbo Actuator Replacement
Great, I'm glad you were able to find the engine specs. That website is mentioned quite a few times in the U.K. Volvo forum that I linked to you, so I'd not be too concerned. They also look to be located in several countries in the E.U.; I doubt it's a scam. Yes, the DiCE units are "knockoffs&q...

Re: Intermittent Heat - 2005 XC90 2.5T
Sounds like the blend door is opening and closing. Does it happen/ make a difference when: -the climate control is on auto or manual? -is the hot/cold air happening at all vents? -the re-circulation is on? -on manual on just vent or on manual with just floor setting on? -independently of where the t...
