Re: I'm going Volvoing, first stop Arkansas

Engines and transmissions are made to be run continuously. Doing short trips kills them or at least degrades them. So yeah we should be vacationing them more often :-)

And walking more, to save ourselves if nothing else.

Re: Inner fenders on or off?

It's much better on. Just add extra rust protection and put it back. Without it the protection gets blasted off easily.

Re: Safe to Charge Battery Indoors?

Seriously though. A battery that had been properly flat won't ever be reliable again as a starter so just get a new one straight away. I have brought starter batteries back from deep dead. It does take more time then most people can be without a battery. They will never be anywhere near as good as ...

Re: 07 XC70: Need help identifying/replacing side bulbs

W5W is Wedge 5 Watts. Or a T10 wedge if that's easier to find.

The led is a unit of its own and isn't supposed to need replacing. You need to remove the rear light assembly to get to it i think. Two bolts from inside.

Is your car ticking? Check the exhaust manifold gasket.

Last autumn I had a weird ticking sound coming from the car. No other symptoms. Drove well. No codes. Eventually I put my hand behind the engine by chance and felt puffs of warm air. Turned out one bolt from the manifold had fallen out and one of the gaskets was sitting slightly off. A new bolt late...

Re: 166666 in the middle of the car wash!

^ That is, when you're taking the photograph. Hold the phone horizontally. The pet photo looks to be right. Portrait is (apart from in phpbb) perfectly acceptable for photos. Portrait video is something you should have your internet license revoked for though .. I've seen the same issue on Phorum p...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

Did the 330' km oil change last week and yesterday I ordered a stage 1 optimisation for the car. Been thinking about it since i got it. When I caught myself looking at BMW V8s longingly I realised it was time for some more oomph  252hp/410Nm. It'll be interesting. Now it's in and there's a cl...

I just added a quarter turn to the existing clamp and my leaks stopped :-)

Re: Air Guide Deflector splash guard Part Numbers

If you mean the horizontal bar inside the lower opening it's part of the front assembly.

Or do you mean the plastic cover just in front of #46 pictured above. Covering the bottom of the radiator?

Re: Tires?

"All seasons" are really "no seasons". Useless in snow and much worse than proper summer tyres as long as it isn't freezing.. And quality tyres don't age nearly as fast as is usually claimed. Though this is highly dependant on climate. That said the important part is the measurem...
