In that case I'd replace the thermostat and the ETS that lives right under it.
From what I've read, when that goes it seems to cause all kinds of problems.

I'm pretty sure all you need to change is the flywheel itself. Everything else is the same between DMF and SMF cars. New bolts a preferred either way, of course. I recommend using the 850R clutch, like you mentioned. That link shows that it's just for an M90 transmission, but I don't know how differ...
