Replacing REAR subframe trailing arm bushings
One thing that’s always bothered me about P2’s is how the arse end of these cars reminds me rather vividly of a “sulky”. As in, the little trailer that is towed behind a walk-behind zero-turn mower - the operator stands on it whilst operating said ZT mower. I’ve replaced quite a few parts trying to ...

Re: Cause of intake cam seal leak?
- The early version of VVT design has the VVT Hub only on the Exhaust side. The Intake VVT was added later. This is bc the Exhaust camshaft does most of the work (such as "advanced or retarded" positions to control emission and engine power). FYI, when you rotate the VVT Hub all the way Cl...

Re: 2007 XC70 timing belt change. Do-able at home?
Ay- I did the belt, water pump ect on my 03 XC70 a couple of summers ago. It went fine for me. I did build my own cam lock thing, 4 bolts that indexed to gear notches. I marked the old belt with 2 dots of paint and transferred those dots to the new belt. It went well and the car started with no CEL....

Re: Is it a common thing these days for dealers to refuse to give estimates/quotes?
Airbag is very easy to do. Just schedule an appointment. It is free of charge, of course. TCM adaptation you can do yourself with, eh, "community edition" of VIDA and DiCE (knock-off or even real one, they are cheaper now) or any other J2534-compatible scanners with dual CAN-bus support, l...

Re: What is this hose on the rack and pinion specifically?
I would hose it down with Fluid Film or ACF-50 to prevent rust from going further.

Re: What is this hose on the rack and pinion specifically?
Thanks. I'll need to look those up. I'm not familiar with them. I thought maybe a WD-40 product or what I've seen locally (in Canada) a rust convertor fluid...but not those brands...if that's what they are... Fluid Film or ACF-50 will take longer to wash off than WD-40. You could even take a brush ...

Re: Long term results for 2001 V70 auto transmission drain and fill
Interesting conversation about ATF replacement, however I’m a bit surprised at how many people are using a drain and fill process to accomplish the replacement. On the P2 cars it’s rather easy (after one initial sump drain and refill) to break into the return trans cooler line and let the internal p...

Re: 2002 s60 b5244s with machined turbo drain
No turbo. Regular atmospheric pressure on this engine. Using my finger to feel around and my handy mirror on a stick I do not feel or see any threads. I tried to get my caliper up in there to measure and comes up around - .790" I also thought about adding threads but don't like my chances of g...
