Re: 2006 XC70 Hot starting issues
Which cylinder is dead? Move coil pack from a working cylinder and see if the misfire moves. I consider coil packs a 100k maintenance item, although many will run 'til failure.

Re: 2006 XC70 Hot starting issues
So how about that? Your Volvo isn't dead after all. Just nicely broken in at that mileage.

Re: Oil seal leaking?
You need the cam lock tool in place to get the VVT HUB LOCKING Torx to the correct torque, which is really high. How to position the three screws in the hub is a bit ambiguous in the 1999 VIDA instructions, as I found out in this thread. I did document how you can read cam flank angles to get it set...

Rvolvo, To answer your question I was aware of the oil consumption TJ before I bought my S80 and it didn't convince me not to buy my S80. For my LR2 3.2 with synthetic oil only since new (I brought the oil to the dealer for the "Free oil changes" because I didn't want to use a low quality ...

Re: Wheel alignment; castor adjustment 2006 xc70
* Instead of correction just make sure the toe (adjustable) and camber (slight play but not made to for adjustment) are within spec and test drive to see if it drives straight. Almost no average cars these days have castor nor camber adjustments. You can get a concentric bolt for the strut for cambe...

Re: Wheel alignment; castor adjustment 2006 xc70
* The car should drive pretty straight but might be a bit squirrely meaning can drift or dart left or right but going right more depending on the crown of the road. This is due to positive toe both front and rear. Everything for all intensive purposes are within spec and Castor is not really a tire ...

Check your Banjo PCV bolt
This is the Banjo from my 2002 2.5ltr XC70 (part number i think is 8653884) it has a very small diameter hole that i can pass wire though. There is no ball bearing/slug or anything that can come loose and destroy your engine. It has 01-02 stamped on the head. I believe Volvo fitted defective bolts t...

Re: ATF change out
Save your time and do just 2-3 drain&fills. Rationale: 1. Only a part of ATF flow is directed towards oil cooler, everything else circulates internally, i.e. new fluid mixes with the old one 2. Cooler return line goes basically into sump, where your fresh fluid mixes with whatever is splashing t...
