Did some investigating this morning. I think I can gain an inch more in the rearward direction if I move the bracket back (will need to move the threaded rod back a bit too. There's about 1/4" of length at the front end of the rod.

Here's a great view of the challenge. Bolt is hidden behind the bump out on the lower right of the thermostat housing. You are limited to the right by the top sensor bolt, you can't come from under the bump out and the bottom of the intake manifold blocks you as well. Crows foot flare wrench has bee...

Glenn - I purchased a Snap-on version of the same instead because it appeared to have better overall dimensions for fitting into the space. It won’t show up until Monday but I’ll report back once I try it.

Picked up a CCM from a 2006 S60 (along with some non-wrinkled a-pillar covers) from the local salvage yard and installed the climate control fan off it into my wagon. Seems to be working as intended over a 30 minute test drive.

@gnalan - thanks for the explanation. I'm fortunate to have impact tools and a ratchet strap so hopefully things will go a bit more smoothly. I hear you on the too much at once - when I wrench these days (vs. 30 years ago) I need a few days of recovery. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Easy might not be the word I'd choose to use :) Lots of cursing when the driver's side axle pulled free of the transmission and prevented the lower strut bolt from lining up. Once I realized what was happening, I took the axle out of the knuckle, reseated it, and started again. Basically my approach...

And got my VIDA setup working this morning and cleared the codes. Everything is working as intended.
