Creaking, Groaning and Moaning From Front Struts
I have had a moaning and groaning issue from the front struts on my 2008 XC70 for a while now. From what I had read, this can be caused by the strut mounts. So, while I was taking the struts out to do the mounts, I figured that I may as well do the ball joints, tie rods and sway links. Needless to s...

Re: 2007 XC90 3.2… cem not communicating with rem?
Paul and ChitownV ,
I am not dissing anybody’s info. All is very much appreciated and I do my best to learn as much as I can. I am not a young person and sometimes it takes a little time for me to wrap my brain around a new concept which this vvt vs vvl is.
Thanks, Ruth

Re: 2008 V70 3.2 Loss of power assist in steering
Did you check the filter screen in the reservoir?
I have 2009 s80 t6. Have 206 k miles on it. The fluid is dark, smells burning. It has humming noise when you start and turns wheels. The real culprit was clogged filter screen.

Re: 2011 S80 3.2 map sensor replacement
Paul, a million thanks, both for the advice and links. I hadn’t thought of accessing it through the headlight, that could definitely work. Much appreciated, Matt.

How to say "Thanks" for a post that helps you
Please "Thank" the users in your post you feel have helped you. The image above shows where you find it on a desktop. On mobile, it's in the dropdown menu in the same location.
You may also thank someone in any thread for any reason -- it does not have to be your thread.

Re: 2008 XC70 -- Intermittent overheating and misfires
Hey Paul (and anyone else reading), Two updates: 1) Spark plugs and 2) PS pump / Water pump / tensioner / idler / belt replacement. Apologies for the pics being slightly blurry in random places -- it's a 4-yr-old iPhone. Hoping for another couple years out of it.. 1) Spark plugs were dirty, gaps wer...

Re: 2008 XC70 -- Intermittent overheating and misfires
Alright, the work is done. I took it on a 40 min test drive (trip to the dump) and all is well. Final list: 1. Drive belt, tensioner, idler pulley, decoupler pulley 2. Power steering pump, CHF 11S fluid. Took out reservoir and flushed it to clear the filter. 3. Water pump, incl coupling to PS pump 4...

Re: Ford Spark Plugs
I believe the earlier 3.2s used Bosch iridium and later 3.2s used Denso. The shortened 50k mile spark plug interval is also listed in the Volvo XC90 3.2 thread as well as info on using Denso Iridium alternatives for the later 3.2s. Other shortened service intervals based on XC90 3.2 owners' (parts f...
