Re: Engine died while driving and won't start.

Tensioner is definitely bad from your description. A few teeth of slippage is not engine death (bent valves), but several teeth is.

The factory tensioner is Aisin, I wouldn't touch MTC unless you are OK losing the engine at some point.

Researching my issue the past few days, reading a lot about ANY timing belt slip means your engine is toast? I'm hoping Rick is correct though! Belt breaking is toast. Slipping has some forgiveness. For mission critical components, use OEM parts. OEM Part numbers: Volvo 9146693 Asin BTV-005 Febi 22...

Pull a vacuum hose somewhere along the air intake pass the MAF. Use the spray tube to inject the eit...

Re: Engine died while driving and won't start.

There is no gray relay in a 98 or any x70 car, that stops in 97 (850) cars. Fuel injection for x70 is handled by one of the main relays.

See viewtopic.php?t=77768 and scroll down to the pic of the 98 and the posts that follow.

Re: Engine died while driving and won't start.

You'll want to spray it in the throttle body itself, just remove the hose that goes into it from the intercooler outlet.

Re: Engine died while driving and won't start.

Yes, definitely. Even with the cam seal blown out you still only get intermittent oil and moisture into the distributor cap. Can happen any time, can improve if the moisture dries up or the oil drains out the weep hole in the cap, etc. When oil/moisture gets on the cap electrodes, no spark can jump ...

Re: 98 V70 T5 brake pedal sinks

It could be a collapsing brake line on either side which is getting extended in turning. Inspect both front sides.
