New FCP 96 thru 97 850 turbo PCV breather kit cheap
I bought this kit a year ago for my '96 850T Platinum wagon and never installed it. The car has other issues and I won't be using this kit. I paid $116 and it can be yours for $40 (and I'll pay for ground shipping fees up to $10). This is the full kit with oil trap, hoses, clamps and a new intake ga...

Re: turn signal troubleshoot advice?
In an attempt to 'give back' I'm going to post the remainder of my turn signal saga. Here's the order of events. I'm not proud of this but it is what happened: 1) Started popping fuse 13 when using my right blinker 2) Installed a new fuse, things were OK but then failed again 3) Replaced my flasher ...

Re: turn signal troubleshoot advice?
I just wanted to say that I put in a new ignition switch today and I have my turn signals back in order. In my repair quest I wound up replacing both the emergency light flasher AND the ignition switch. Replacing just the emergency light switch changed the nature of the problem but didn't fix it com...

turn signal troubleshoot advice?
The turn signal, emergency lights and high beams and fuse 13 died on my 1996 850T Platinum 5 door with 198k miles. I read through these forums and bought an emergency switch on ebay for $20. I replaced the fuse, installed the switch and everything was OK. Then the turn signals and emergency lights s...

Re: No coolant in radiator?
So sorry to post like an idiot but I disconnected the wrong 'radiator hose'. I'm just not used to working on a turbo even though I've owned this car for a while. Anyway, thank you, thank you Lee for your timing belt post. I did the full IPD timing kit with a water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt a...

No coolant in radiator?
I followed Lee's timing belt and water pump replacement procedure today. I have about an hour left to finish the job but something strange happened and I wanted to see if anyone had a comment. When I disconnected the lower radiator hose (under the car on the driver's side) no coolant came out. Reall...

Re: Do it yourself ABS module repair.
I just wanted to say thanks for your ABS repair guide. Yes, it's a little difficult opening the unit but I just saved a pile 'O' cash. What a lousy solder job by the original producers of these modules! Anyway, your instructions made the job possible for me.....ABS/TRACS lights out! '96 Platnum T5 W...

'96 850T R axel replacement
I wanted to say thanks for the help and 'close the loop'. My 850 wagon has 92k miles and the R CV boot went bad. I replaced the axel, L and R struts, spring seats and strut mounts. The Right spring seat had failed so I'm glad I bought the full set of parts from FCP Groton. I was lucky to have air to...

removing axel? 1996 850T automatic
MadeInJapan, Are you saying that a circlip needs to be compressed before the axel assembly can be removed from the transmission? I've replaced the CV joint/axel assembly on other cars and the axel was easily pulled out of the transmission without any trouble. Does my 850T automatic have a circlip th...

thanks for your help
Lee, Since I installed the battery myself 6 months ago (and I did use the thingamajiggers and cleaned the posts well), I knew it couldn't be the battery cables. I bought the ignition switch, installed it and the car wouldn't start. So.....after I cleaned the battery cables again, the car started rig...
