Re: VIDA resets after Tranny swap.

Just doing some more research today. Not sure my symptoms follow the Volvo client complaints regarding the valve body ive been reading about across all Volvo sites. (Mine happens between 3/4 ( sometimes 2/3) shuddering but only when at full operating temp and after 15/ 20 mins of driving and only at...

Re: VIDA resets after Tranny swap.

My shop said a new valve body is $1000 to buy which I confirmed and s complete rebuild $3000. Yes, that sounds about right. A genuine Volvo reconditioned factory transmission around here is $3880 CDN ($2800USD)+tax ( I think this is exchange) A genuine Volvo valve body is $1500 CDN or about $1150US...

Re: VIDA resets after Tranny swap.

Sounds good! I have very similar symptoms....just started last week.though my manual shift seems fine and it only starts to happen when fully warmed up. Mine is a 2010 3.2L with 210k km with much highway miles.( brought it with me for three years in Europe running the Autobahns and autostradas) I wa...

Re: New genuine parts for 2003 XC70

Hi.....looking at Tasca Volvo online and using xc70/2004, it shows this lower control arm as a valid number having been superceded by a newer part number. (36051004) See below. I bought this for my 2003 xc70 a few years ago, but traded it in before I got around to installing it....should fit 2004 xc...

Re: VIDA resets after Tranny swap.

It's exhibiting the classic T6 symptoms I read about- shuddering from 2-3 & 3-4, flares and getting progressively worse. Throwing no tranny codes. Local very reputable tranny shop drove it and said it fells very much like the torque converter. Fluid is clean. Definitely flushing and changing fluid....

Re: 3.2l 2010 thermostat change

Ok....went to find my thermostat to give it a test and it appears it self destructed and cracked off one of the plastic tangs while it was sitting on my work bench. Found the spring about 5’ away.

Re: GoPro on a low quality control arm

That video is a bit scary..... The window problem is easily fixed. Just need to reset them. Open the fuse box in drivers door, locate the fuse for each door window and do them individually. Auto down each window and while it is in motion, pull out the fuse before it hits bottom of travel. Then repla...

Re: 3.2l 2010 thermostat change

It did not seem broken, but was definitely original as it had a 2009 build code on it. The plastic tabs are still intact but the wax cylinder seemed a bit cocked to one side relative to the hole in the stainless bracket that is held in place by the two plastic tabs. Ill pop it in boiling water to se...
