Re: Bought an $800 XC90 - is it worth fixing? Could be fun
You need to sign up to receive alerts from a local/regional pull-a-part or other self-service junkyard. The 04-06 six cylinder is notable for it's overmatched transmission. Thus, you get a lot of decent cars showing up in junkyards because of bad transmissions that would require costly repair. I ...

Re: 2004 XC90 trailer wiring harness
I have an 04 XC90 and am trying to find the correct OEM wiring harness. Volvopartswebstore (RickHaleParker's link) says that I need harness 30796541 along with trailer module 30664652. I actually already have these from the junk yard trailer hitch that I pulled. Unfortunately, these parts only fit ...

Re: Xc90 seat compatibility
I am pretty sure that they are not compatible - the mounting points are different. I have an 04 and was in a pull-a-part junkyard looking for a seat bottom that was better than my tattered one. I think that the vehicle I was scavenging on that day was an 08 and the brackets on the bottom of the seat ...

Re: 2005 XC90 T6 Executive Project Car.
Like mentioned by SuperHerman, I used a Dremel tool to cut a slot in the shear bold and then used a larger standard screw driver. It was easy to do and I have very little wrenching experience.

Re: 2004 xc90 2.5T adding transmission fluid
As we used to say in the Navy - disregard my last transmission (no pun intended). I am just a fool who did not look hard enough the first time! The dipstick in underneath the lower engine coolant hose.
Thanks!
Thanks!

2004 xc90 2.5T adding transmission fluid
I need to add some transmission fluid as I lost about a 1/2 qt when I replaced the radiator. On this car, I don't see a dipstick. However, underneath the fuse box in the engine bay is a really large bolt on top of the transmission. Is that where I add? Does anyone know the size of that bolt? Finally ...

Re: OEM subwoofer software upload
I pulled my subwoofer from a junk yard donor car. There are two used ones for sale on ebay.

OEM subwoofer software upload
Hi, I have a 04 xc09 that originally came with the High Performance sound system. I have added an OEM sub from a scrapped 04 xc90 and tied it into the MOST system with the appropriate wiring harness. Does anyone know the particulars on what software update I need for the amp to start encoding a ...

Re: 2004 XC90 Climate Unit connectors
Never mind! I figured it out when I flipped over the dashboard sitting in the corner of the garage and realized that the little light on the top of the dashboard is a sun sensor and that the hazard light was in the middle of the dashboard. The offending green connector goes to the sun sensor.
