Does the CEM have to be cloned or can I just get one off another used Volvo and replace it?

I heard they have to be cloned but Its simply to expensive and having the CEM out means the car is gonna have to be parked a while.

It’s a smaller square one.

I would like to know if it’s possible to replace just the chip and if so
