Re: '99 S70 Stalls after Highway driving
"Your ignition switch is screwed. " Yeah. I know it's screwed. I also know that I'm looking at $600.00 for a new one custom made for my car, in Germany. I did read the great write up by mom. But.... will the ignition switch being efinheimered, cause my stalling symptoms? Or, am I dealing w...

Re: '99 S70 Stalls after Highway driving
Sounds like bad ground wires off of the negative battery terminal- check the terminal itself for corrosion and the braded wires that attach to the back of the engine block. I checked them all. They all looked good, but I disconnected each one and touched everything up with a wire brush, just to be ...

'99 S70 Stalls after Highway driving
I've searched the forum for some hints to what could be causing this, but I haven't pegged it yet. After 20+ minutes of highway driving, I pull off the freeway, slow to less than 30mph and my s70 will stall. No sputtering, no warnings. It simply stops. It is then very hard to start. I have a new ETM...

I replaced all plugs
Thanks for the feed back. This problem came to my attention when I had a check engine light come on. I hooked up the OBDII sensor and found a bad o2 sensor. Replaced that and then found that I have a misfire. Before I did anything else, I replaced ALL of the plugs. Then I started in on the above tro...

'99 s70. Misfire
I'm getting a misfire but not sure how to locate it. I've gone through some simple troubleshooting by removing the ign. coils from the plugs, one at a time and then seeing if the engine runs differently or not. (not - would locate the misfire) with no result (each time the engine ran worse). I purch...

madeinjapan. Thanks. This is exactly the kind of info. I needed. Not having done this work before, I wasn't sure what I'd be in for and I figured I'd hold off a few days just to get some input from a knowledgeable source. I'm glad that I waited because this sounds like it really is more than I want ...

99 s70 cv boot replacement
I'm going to attempt replacing right side / inner and outer cv boots. I can't find any information on this job anywhere. There doesn't seem to be a Haynes or Chilton book on the 99 s70. I can't find anything at my local library. I've asked my local Volvo dealer about a shop manual, but they aren't i...
