Yes, I just found another post about this problem, seems there is a switch involved and a releasing grommet. Does this mean I should remove the intake manifold and look for parts rattling around in there? (hopefully not ingested) Consensus seems to be yes, a trip to PickUrPart is in order.

Oops, in my previous post I said there were two temp sensors. That is incorrect, there is only one, it is used by the OBDII and the temp gauge. I stand by my statement that if anything is suspect the temp gauge is less believable.

I had similar problems a while back and am only now getting to the root of all varied cooling system problems.
