Re: Brake Booster Hose to Intake Manifold
Just in case someone reads this and wants to know how it turned out, I found a car at Pick Your Part. The brake booster hose entrance to the intake manifold was covered in some king of hardened goop. I took the hint. I wanted to make sure I got my goop under the ring that's in the opening. In playin...

Re: Brake Booster Hose to Intake Manifold
Yes, I just found another post about this problem, seems there is a switch involved and a releasing grommet. Does this mean I should remove the intake manifold and look for parts rattling around in there? (hopefully not ingested) Consensus seems to be yes, a trip to PickUrPart is in order.

Brake Booster Hose to Intake Manifold
My Brake Booster Hose lifts out of its fitting on the intake manifold, the only thing keeping it in is its weight. it's a sloppy fit and, undoubtedly a vacuum/pressure leak. My Haynes manual doesn't mention or show it. Does anyone know what I need to do to repair this? IPD doesn't have anything clos...

Re: v40 struts and lift kit?
Hi, Yes I know it's very late to be posting a reply. I bought a set of coilovers from KSport in Arizona for my 2000my V40. I used them to lower the car about 1.25 inches all around but there's nothing to stop you from raising the car. The amount you can raise and lower will be limited, you won't be ...

Re: Radiator fan stays off
Oops, in my previous post I said there were two temp sensors. That is incorrect, there is only one, it is used by the OBDII and the temp gauge. I stand by my statement that if anything is suspect the temp gauge is less believable.

Re: Radiator fan stays off
I had similar problems a while back and am only now getting to the root of all varied cooling system problems. They've all been pretty simple up to now. #1 - NEVER trust the temperature gauge on the dash. Mine rises to midpoint as the thermostat should be opening and stays there even at 250 degrees....

Re: Front and rear suspension torque specs please
The Haynes manual arrived today, thanks IPD! I looked and found all the info I need to continue work on the car. It's definitely worth the $25. My rush with this job is to get the car running in time to get back to Arizona (where I'm registered to vote) in time to vote. Yes, there are other ways to ...

Re: Front and rear suspension torque specs please
Thanks, I had already seen that post about front end torque settings (on the same car as mine) and that could be useful when I get to the front end on mine, although I've now bought the book. The other one, volvohowto, talks about a different generation of cars. My 2000 V40 is from the generation fr...

Re: Front and rear suspension torque specs please
OK, I bought my own Hayes manual from IPD. Amazon didn't have it and the prices were higher on the ones they did have, IPD was a better deal. In the meantime, while I'm waiting for it to arrive, I wonder if some who did buy the book could fill me in on the torque specs for each end of the rear lower...

Front and rear suspension torque specs please
Hi, I have a 2000 V40 with about 120,000Mi on it. I'm in the process of changing front control arms and, while I'm at it, I'm going to install coilovers on all four corners and drop the car about an inch. I don't have the book I probably should have but I usually look up these specs online. No luck ...
