Re: XC70 tranmission valve body replacement success
Just as the subject says, I wanted to report to this forum that I've successfully replaced the valve body in my 2005 XC70 with 115,000 miles. The car was experiencing hard upshifts when the transmission was warm, hard or delayed garage shifts to park or reverse, and hunting for gears in low speed a...

Re: 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T Valve Body Replacement
As far as I see, those $120 rebuilt ones are all coming from China, thus the low price. There are multiple sellers on Ebay. Not a miracle, because the AW55/50 has been in so many GM, Nissan etc. Currently checking if there are any "real U.S." sellers that don't just resell the China ones -...

Re: 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T Valve Body Replacement
Another option you might consider is rebuilding your existing valve body with a Sonnax or Transgo kit. I used the Transgo kit to address a shift flare and hard 3-2 shift and slamming from Park to Drive or Reverse about 5 years ago with good success. Flush and fills will only help so much until you ...

Re: 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T Valve Body Replacement
[/quote] I don't know the cost of the rebuilt valve body from your local shop but for a quality rebuild it's not cheap and it might be worth considering a new valve body sold through GM. These are genuine Aisin (OEM) valve bodies and cost less than $600. A couple of simple changes make them compatib...

2005 Volvo S60 2.5T Valve Body Replacement
My 05 S60 has 160k and has hard down shifting from 3rd to 2nd gear when warm. All the Volvo geeks I talked to told me that most likely the valve body needs repair or replacement - a software update won't help. Due to the value of the car I am opting for a rebuilt valve body, not a new one. I repair ...

Eyeing the S80 - what to watch out for?
I want to replace my 2005 S60 2.5T in the next 4-6 months and am looking at the 6 cyl. S80s from 2008-2014 that are being offered, often pretty cheap.
Which models and model years are there to avoid?
Thanks

2005 S60 2.5T: Check Engine P0101 and rough idle after around 6 miles and restarts
Previous errors were Intake and Exhaust P0026 and 0027.First had Intake and Exhaust Solenoid replaced with cheap aftermarket parts (Ebay), then put back in the original, cleaned Intake and Exhaust VVT Solenoids. Also engine flush and new oil. The related error codes went away. Then rough idle got wo...

Re: 2005 Volvo S60 Transmission Problem
Just wanted to follow up, since things have changed. The Volvo Specialists told me that the transmission fluid level was too high and that it was leaking from one axle. While I was waiting for a garage to repair it, the error stopped occurring. Everything seems good now. Will have the leak fixed nex...

Re: 2005 Volvo S60 Transmission Problem
Thanks. I still have a third gear, just this brief slipping between 2-3 and seemingly 3-4. Strangely enough, today the Check Engine Light has disappeared. Sometimes this week the B4 will be replaced and the fluid level adjusted (currently too high according to a shop specialized on Volvo and Saab). ...

Re: 2005 Volvo S60 Transmission Problem
@vtl - My apologies if I possibly repeat myself.
Found someone who will replace the B4 Servo Cover.
Question: This still makes sense when Error PO780 is displayed, right?
