Re: Intermittent loss of power
The oil trap return line makes a little U inside the oil pan I believe, that's where the crap stays

Re: Intermittent loss of power
No one enjoys the sun and heat, much less when it's this humid out. It is the only thing that makes sense, as there is nowhere else on the engine pressure can build

Re: Intermittent loss of power
I was searching for a video on how to remove. Only found one with an s60, and they removed front tyre, timing belt, engine mount... I'd rather not mess with the timing belt right now. Things were so much easier when I had a 1979 mini. :) It's a bit of a pain, but manageable with the right tools, so...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
You live in the same country as I friendo, I know that pain, hah. I also do all of my work, though luckily I have a place to do things where the car can stay for about a day, even if it is my daily. Do keep in mind that taking off the oil pan isn't THAT bad of a job on these cars, in my experience a...

Re: Intermittent loss of power

Can you get a Borescope and look at the pistons and cylinder walls? I suppose I could get a Borescope, they ...

Re: Intermittent loss of power
Did you remove the Oil pan doing the PCV service? You can unclog the passage from the PCV into the engine, but it runs a bit deeper than that and is probably clogged up near the oil pickup

Re: Intermittent loss of power
Did you check if the oil drain passage to the sump was clear when changing the PCV? Sounds like the most likely culprit

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Swapped out the exhaust camshaft rear seal on the T5 I bought just one month ago that was quite literally puking oil anywhere I parked. Was an absolute pain because the last person who fiddled with it took the trouble of removing everything related to the seal, but didn't actually change it and inst...
