Re: Highbeams work low beams don't 2001 s80
I had the same problem where my passenger side low beam wouldn't work tried replacing the bulb nothing !!! checked fuse 20 and 21 both were good checked to see if there's any voltage at the bulb socket and that's when I found out there is no voltage. Well the fixed turned out to be fuse number 17 wa...

Re: Front end suspension
Thanks for the advice and for the links, I’m going to give it a try and I’ll post the results. I have more common sense now, that when I feel something isn’t working right I’ll stop and put it back together if I can’t do it the correct way. Not sure if you got this done but I was in you same predic...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
I seen to see some leak where it points in this picture. Can you take a second look ? That could be a leak from the cam seals, or even from the water pump - the pump is the gear right above where it appears to be wet. The pump has a hole to it, see if anything leaks Found out what that was... turns...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
The needle is fine - assuming the engine is cold The belt is indeed quite riding on the right side, it may be touching somewhere causing that squeak. Try with the left hand to keep the tensioner needle to the right, and spin with fingers the tensioner pulley putting some pressure on it - it will no...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
The belt has already been replaced, the original one doesn't have 'Continental' on it (but has similar white areas on it). I hear a small intermittend friction noise, and the belt seems to be wobbling over the tensioner pulley - the needle also shakes a little but less important. Can you take a pic...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
I reinstalled the solenoid and ran the motor without the timing belt cover on. I noticed two important things hopefully your input will help... 1) Pay attention in the video to the tensioner as it vibrates and moves slightly back and forth ? Is that normal or does that mean the tensioner is bad ? I'...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
Just make sure the solenoid clicks on applying 12 volts. The nominal ohm spec is 3.7 volts but it’s an AC device (250 hz) so the DC ohm reading can range up to 10-12 Ohms and it will work fine If the oil has been kept clean they last a long time Ohms is a measurement of Resitance Volts is a measure...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
Is this part what I may need ? yes that part, you have the old one, i would remove it and check/clean it. BUT get the gasket first because you cannot re use the old one I've watched many videos of these solenoids being oped up and taken apart and cleaned up. I took mine off and I'm waiting for the ...

Re: How to tell if Timing Belt Service had ever been done ?
Yes, it’s moot because you have oil leaks from both cam seals, I think. Once you commit to that, you replace the belt at the very least. No both Can Seals dry, not sure where that old grease is from ? It was the same right underneath the car too in that area, but I've since cleaned it with brake cl...

Re: 2004 s60 timing belt job
I paid $283 plus tax for the labor. Maybe not the best price out there, but these guys are Volvo professionals. Also definitely cheaper than it would have been if I didn't provide the parts. Wow you're lucky ! I've called 3 places so far in the Seattle and neighbouring areas. All 3 places are Volvo...
