Re: A couple things members might know, that I don't.

Well, I'm very happy. Though I had to shorten the "J" hose to get rid of the crack on the end, it was still long enough (barely) to reach the check valve. My leak is now sealed and I passed smog this morning.
Thanks for all the help.

Re: A couple things members might know, that I don't.

I found one on Amazon, but two of the four reviews were negative stating that the hose lasted less than a year. Sounds like a ÜRO part. Avoid ÜRO like the plague. Also, some recommended hose clamps would be much appreciated. This is an ultra low pressure system (under 1/2 an atmosphere), but I want...

Re: A couple things members might know, that I don't.

I can get a new "J" hose. FCP Euro does not carry them. Yes you can get a new one for ~$25.00. There are three different part numbers for the 2001 V70. Post the 17 digit VIN number and I'll tell you which one and where to get it? I found one on Amazon, but two of the four reviews were neg...

Re: A couple things members might know, that I don't.

Update: The "J" hose from the EVAP charcoal canister had a crack in it, right at the connection to the canister. I could not see that crack due to the fact that it faced away from the rear of the car. To see it I would have to have stalk eyes like a crab or a snail. I found it with a smoke...

Re: Help. What's supposed to be here?

Still getting the P0455. I had this code when the o-ring for the driver's side sending unit was leaking gas so bad you could smell the fumes from across the street. Have you popped your back seat cushion out, and removed both black round covers (4 10mm nuts on each) on top of the gas tank, to see i...

Re: Help. What's supposed to be here?

Did a "smoke test" this AM trying to find where my EVAP leak is coming from. The smoke machine didn't make as much smoke as I hoped, but I did find it coming from here. Clearly, there is supposed to be a hose connected to this, but what hose? Whatever it is supposed to be, It's not there....

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Decades, or lifetimes ago, when I was a mechanic, we would perform a wet and dry test. One test was done on a cylinder with the spark plug removed, a dry test, and the other with the plug removed and oil added to the cylinder just prior to the test. The later was a wet test. The purpose was to deter...
