They were ready to replace the whole bevel gear box but it looked to be in good shape. Probably put $6000 in repairs into this car over 3 months, but it drives like it's brand new now!

Culprit was the angle sleeve collar, quite shredded. They checked all my engine mounts, driveshaft, axles (both wheels were off as they also changed front rotors and pads).

So far I haven't even heard the slightest hint of that sound driving it home

Nevermind. Read more into the exhaust leak and it sounds quiet viable

It quiets down a lot after warming up. Also don't hear it in reverse. Definitely gonna have them check driveshaft, axles, Angle gear. I'm really curious to find out where it's coming from. I looked up what an exhaust leak is, however, the turbo seems to be in decent shape. No weird smells coming fro...

When I think about it, I did not hear this at all BEFORE they replaced my front struts and mounts

Everything done to that car has been replaced with OEM Volvo, no IPD or anything. The only suspension components I've recently replaced are front struts and mounts, and rear sway bar links. I'll ask them to comb through all the engine mounts and front end suspension components, plus the axles, next ...

I'm also replacing the upper torque mount next week as it's completely shot, and apparently that may cause some strange noises as well. Again, drivability feels completely normal/regular. I even pushed it a bit on the highway home and everything sounded/felt fine at high speed

No sort of idle revving recreates the sound. The sound only emits when the car is moving. As it speeds up, the ticking gets "faster" if that makes sense
