Re: T6 Timing Belt Cover Installation

It's been about 7 years since I did this job (to replace thermostat) so I don't recall now how I did this, but I do remember it's very easy to break off the nipple that the coolant hose fits onto and then you have to get a new thermostat housing. Happened not just to me but also to the tech who rep...

T6 Timing Belt Cover Installation

This is a little embarrassing. But for the life of me I cannot re-install the timing belt cover on my 2004 S80 T6 (the T6's cover has the hole to allow for the thermostat inlet/outlet pipe). I've got the coolant and power steering reservoirs off. I've got the ECM cover off. I cannot get the two tabs...

Re: Marker Light Receptacle

Follow-up: the parts in my previous post did resolve this problem. The repair terminals matched up with the receptacle. There is a white component in the receptacle (opposite the side from where the repair terminals are inserted) which pushes in AFTER the terminals are inserted which lock the termin...

Re: Marker Light Receptacle

Thank you, SuperHerman. This is for the front bumper cover. Your analysis is spot on. I bought the connector (receptacle) here: https://www.volvowholesalepartsdirect.com/p/42881176/9168792.html . After submitting my post above, I did some Google research and discovered the matching repair terminal f...

Marker Light Receptacle

2005 S80 My daughter's front bumper cover, passenger side marker light fell off. Not only the lens and bulb, but even the receptacle which attaches (I believe) to the wiring harness. See attached photo. I'm left with only (A), . . . raw wires from the harness. As you can see I have the new receptacl...

Re: 2005 S80 Where to find side marker harness?

Hi Misun,

I have the same problem for a 2005 S80. Did you ever find the harness? Do you know the volvo part ID and/or where to find it online?

Thank you,
Daniel

Re: No First Gear? [1998 S70 T5]

Thanks, folks. The "W" button is not pressed. Regardless if the "S" (sport), "E" (economy) or "W" (weather) transmission buttons are pressed, the issue persists. The arrow does is not lit up in normal driving. When the shifter is in "3" or "L&qu...

No First Gear? [1998 S70 T5]

Hi Folks, My car is driving like it has no first gear. I'm not saying that is (or is not) what's happening, but it drives like that. From a stop, if I floor the pedal I get a very, very gradual (read: slow) acceleration and once I hit a speed that would be appropriate for 2nd gear the car accelerate...

Thanks for the encouragement to carry on, guys. I got it on. Changed my own water pump. That's a big deal. For *me*. :-)

Re: 1998 S70 T5 Timing Belt Replacement

Thanks. However, I did remove that cover and still cannot get the new belt on as there are parts just behind the HB. Doesn't seem to be the place for a turbo to have extra parts that a non-turbo wouldn't, but nobody else seems to have this problem. Hmm.

Any other thoughts?
