Re: 2006 S60 2.5t door lock actuator acting up: junkyard or dealer?
I'm leaning towards actuator, because the problems are only with the lock motor. The windows and mirrors function normally... Too bad I have no way to test it

2006 S60 2.5t door lock actuator acting up: junkyard or dealer?
Hey everyone, just wanted to get some input here. My driver's door lock actuator is going out, as it works about half the time I press the button, and the lock pin pops up and down a couple times whenever I unlock. Looks like I need a new actuator, but the dealer wants well over 300 bucks for it. I ...

Re: Power steering return lines leaking at rack
Ok thanks! I'll make sure to use lots of penetrating oil before trying this. I've got flare wrenches, but my lines don't have the nuts on them. I'll go to the dealer soon and get the o rings, the screw, and hope for the best

Power steering return lines leaking at rack
Hi everyone, I have the same problem as this topic here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=640957&hilit=Steering+line#p640957 It's leaking from where the lines plug into the rack, just below the steering shaft. I know there are O rings on the ends of these lines, but my qu...

Re: 2006 S60 2.5T sounds like a garbage truck when started in extreme cold!
Thanks everybody, you've pretty much confirmed my suspicions. You've also helped put my mind at ease. The temperature has now warmed up to a balmy -2c, so hopefully my car will be a little happier. Next time it's really cold, I'll definitely give it 5 minutes to warm up

2006 S60 2.5T sounds like a garbage truck when started in extreme cold!
Hi, so around here we're having some very cold (-25c) temperatures, after a relatively mild winter so far. Anyway, yesterday I started my car after it had been sitting all night at these temperatures, and holy crap, the noise! It sounded pretty much exactly like a garbage or recycling truck. You kno...

Replacing control arms but ball joints look good...
Hey everyone, I have a dilemma here. I checked my front suspension and the control arm bushings are definitely shot. I realize I could get the bushings pressed out and replaced, but for the labour cost (especially because I can do the work myself this way) it's cheaper to just get new control arms. ...

Re: Aggravating clunk when I hit the brakes
Another good suggestion, and I'll check it again as soon as the weather cooperates! I just did the big, front and rear (or left and right depending on your perspective) motor mounts this summer, since they were old and hard. It helped with vibration and noise for sure. I had a look at the "fron...

Re: Aggravating clunk when I hit the brakes
Yeah I considered that, but all CV boots are in great shape; no tears at all. It's also rare that I hear noise when turning a corner, so that's why I'm leaning away from a bad CV joint...
