Re: Intermittent stumbling issue in stop and go
Following up on this, cleaning the MAF cured one code and replacing the no. 4 fuel injector cured the other three. Strange that the fuel injector problem only happened in stop and go traffic and it sounded same as the other 4 through a stethoscope. Changing it out with a rebuilt one off ebay cured t...

Re: Intermittent stumbling issue in stop and go
Well the ride to work this morning was painful with the top side of the Capital Beltway backing all the way up around to 295. And removing the top of the ECU box for ventilation did nothing - the car ran on only four cylinders throughout the stop and go back up. Outside temp was not more than 77 deg...

Re: V70 R Question
rmmagow: not sure where you are, but there are actually five V70 Rs ranging from '04 to '07 listed on Cars.com right now within 150 miles of Annapolis, MD. I'm actually in the market for a good 03 - 07 XC70, but I keep a V70 search going as sometimes the XCs get mis-labled when posted. Having driven...

Re: Intermittent stumbling issue in stop and go
Oh, yeah forgot the CEL. A few days ago it was throwing three codes according to the local AutoZone guy: 1. Ignition coil cylinder D (guess that means no. 4) 2. Random multiple misfires 3. Undetectable Jimmy - you may well be on to something with the ECM box. Wondering if it is burned out fan - I'm ...

Intermittent stumbling issue in stop and go
My ’01 V70 T5 now with 172k miles has an issue with a heavy miss or stumbling when it’s in stop and go traffic. I have a 40 mile commute each way with about one third in stop and go, and the rest at highway speeds. I’ll leave in the morning and everything is normal for the first 25 miles until I hit...

Re: 2001 v70 t5 acceleration surge, check engine blinking
My '01 V70 T5 with 172k on it has had a similar problem of late. About 30k miles ago I drag raced my wife in our then new to her Mini Cooper (a replacement for her '01 v70XC). In doing so I wound the motor out fairly close to the redline and not a minute later got the tell tale rough idle and a heav...

Re: Strut and Suspension Replacement
Having just gone through this, I can tell you that with that many miles you may as well just do it all. Struts, mounts, spring seats, bump stops, sway bar links, lower control arms (forget replacing just the bushings) and ball joints. My mistake was not doing the lower control arms and ball joints a...

Re: Did the Mini finish off the old T5 wagon?
Thanks for the advice, guys. Started pulling coil wires and found a dead No. 3. $59 later at Pepboys and we're back in business except for the CEL. It did loose power with a good stab on the peddle and you could hear a wooshing sound on the post coil test drive, but I found the turbo hose had blown ...

Did the Mini finish off the old T5 wagon?
My wife bought a Mini Cooper when the kids got old enough to get in and out of the car themselves - something about not wanting to be like the rest of the Annapolis preppy Moms. I have always told her that the old kid-getter, a 2001 V70 T5 with 149k could blow the doors off her new car. Last weekend...

Reliability of 2001 V70 T5 with 2.3L high pressure turbo?
Have searched the forums, but can't find any concrete info on the T5. We are looking at a 2001 V70 T5 today which seems like a good deal. Has 120k and asking price is $7,000. Original owner, dealer serviced and repaired (will see records when I check it out), adult driven, very clean. We have alread...
