Hi I get the same thing on my 740 wagon. When you accelerate harder or go up hill it seams like the a/c is cutting out. What in fact happens is that from head vents it splits to head/foot vents and it seams like it is cutting out but isn't. It could have something to do with the vacuum system but I'...

Hi Make sure the reservoir cap is open when you try to squeeze pistons back in. Take out a bit of brake fluid with a syringe so it does not overflow when pushing the pistons back and make sure you don't drop any dirt or other crap into the reservoir. I hope this helps. If afterall you are not sure t...

Also check you bulbs. They may be new but if it is a twin element bulb the internal glow wire my description) can dislodge. Sometimes it touches the contact and sometimes it doesn't. Meaning it is very difficult to diagnose I was having very similar problems with the left rear brake light on my 740 ...

Hi Windy3 I had the same problem. Check that the rubber grommit (not sure what to call it) behind the fuel filter flap (fits around the fuel cap) is installed properly, and not allowing spilt fuel to get in behind the body. Upon squeezing this grobbit back onto its fitting edges fuel could not drop ...

Finally fixed. The temperature sender was replaced by an authorised Volvo dealer and the light has gone out. It has been two weeks and it is still out. So let me summarise: If your Lamdasond light is on (1991, 740 especially), check the following: Oxygen Sensor on (Catalytic Converter) Vacuum Hoses ...

I can't believe it. Its Back! That stupid lamdasond light is back on! A week after thinking I'd fixed it, its back on again. I have discovered that if you disconnect the battery, the computer resets itself to such an extent that it takes about a week for this fault/light to come up!. This makes sens...

Hi All Just to let you know I solved the problem and hopefully someone else may benefit. The two vacuum hoses protruding from the end of the air intake (engine side) were affected. If you trace them back they end up past the air intake filter box (underneath on the frame) and then connect to a black...

Hi Zizzy I too noticed a smell after refeulling (but no leaks) and it was due to the rubber gromit surrounding the petrol cap (inside of the petrol filling flap) not being connected properly. As soon as I re-installed it around the lip (just inside the petrol flap) the smell after refeulling went aw...

Hello I have a similar problem. When the A/C is running and only if I accelerate moderately hard (like when going up a hill) the vents change. Instead of coming out of the dash vents, it comes out of the lower vents (feet). The setting is on dash vents only! Would this be a similar vacuum problem? C...
