2011 C70 ATF repair

The transmission cooler line required replacement after running over some debris. Some genius in Sweden had the bright idea of having the cooler line routed at the lower bound of the transmission. Of course, had there been no debris in front of the car, I would not be dwelling on this... New cooler ...

You have a high pressure port? Lucky dog... Compressor has an overheat switch on it doesn't it? Check that also...

Good luck with it - I just spent a couple weeks filling up the AC THREAD through my trials with my 850. You'll sort it out. Just don't work backwards...

All right. used compressor and new drier are in. System flushed and leaktested. It would appear that my compressor is/was a ZEXEK DKS-15CH using PAG100 oil. Runs great! BUT a word of caution to those future compressor replacers: do NOT try to fill the compressor on the DISCHARGE side (the one marked...

Trying to order a drier from FCPGROTON but they appear to be unavailable at the moment (today). Website is unavailable. Pulled the trigger and ordered a used compressor thru Pep Boys (3 year warranty if you can believe that). They ordered from a place called everdrive; anybody heard of it? Pep boys ...

KEEP IT!!! Fix it yourself. This forum is an outstanding resource to help you. I personally hate imports BUT you gotta give credit when due and these Volvos are solid cars. As a result I drive one almost every day. Look at it this way: how many OTHER vehicles have FREE online FACTORY SERVICE MANUALS...

Absolutely! New drier is next (would have been done with the orifice but the closest shop with one in stock was 50 miles too far away).

Seeing all that wondrous trash in the HP line has also inspired me to pull and flush all the AC lines I can conventiently get to.

91% IPA: gotta love it...

New adjusting (less than 105) expansion valve installed. The old valve had a bunch of dry black crap on it. Evac'd to hi-vac for an hour and recharged. No change. The compressor ain't sucking. No cold air. The clutch pulls in like it should and responds to the pressostat. Compressor/drier time!!!

Thanks for the prompt reply MIJ! I am sure the system was exposed to stop-leak at some point in it's life. The 850 is a hand-me-down from the original owners and they added a can or so each year without issue. Probably just collected enough atmosphere over the years until it now. You guys do a hell ...

Didn't fix the compressor yet but finally got to read and clear the faults on the ECC:

417 remained after initial reset. Removed passenger side handle and cleaned the lint out of the fan and ALL GOOD!!! No more active faults on the ECC, just no cold air.
