Re: Fuel Smell from my 1998 V70

OK...I found it. It's rectangular w/2 small evap. hoses and one lager rubber hose that routes up the well and into the engine compartment under the brake master. When I dropped the unit from it's bracket [from below] and checked the rubber connector hoses one was a bit loose and sitting at the very ...

Re: Fuel Smell from my 1998 V70

OK...can you give me more info, i.e. what does it look like and is next to, how to access... I see the main fuel feed [hard line] on the pasenger side and it looks OK. I assume the cannister is on the drivers side?

Re: Shaking at 65mph plus feathered tires etc

This could be worn tie rods. I just had the same problem including the tire wear. The clunking could be a drop link [easy fix] or sway bar bushing [not so easy]. Best to do them when replacing your inner tie rods [ask me how I know]. I now think it would have been better to rebuild the front end [al...

Fuel Smell from my 1998 V70

It is getting stronger and comes from the general area by the base of the drivers door [hinge side] and wheel well. Most noticable when sitting idle and just after I shut it off. I see no visible leaks or drips. I am thinking it may be from the return line or vent line? It's most noticible on hot da...

Re: Getting ready to change my evaporator...

Thanks Lee.

I assume I can still get to my drivers side heater flap as on my 850? My wife gets all the cold air!

Re: Getting ready to change my evaporator...

OK, I changed the evaporator and receiver/drier and replaced the O rings. Buttoned everything up and aside from some minor problems with the drivers side control [cable broke] and recirc actuator arm broken [replaced] the ac is nice and cold. I used the 850 proceedure along with the guide in picture...

Re: Getting ready to change my evaporator...

Last question...honest.

Anything I should be aware of on the passenger side airbag [aside from discharging the system and un plugging it?].

Re: Getting ready to change my evaporator...

Yep...and I have set aside 2 days. It's never as bad as they say, right? LOL

Do you see any parts missing from my list?

Unrelated...I am planning a drain and fill for my tranny. I will check my OM but do you know which fluid the 98 v70 uses?

Getting ready to change my evaporator...

I have a 98 V70. The evaporator is shot. I have ordered the evaporator, drier/receiver and all of the o rings for the conncections. Also the 2 seals that FCP show on their site and the 2 seals eeuroparts have on their site.

Do I need anything else for this job???
