Re: Just this morning - seemed to be missing then BAD vibrat

Hi Matt, years later eh? It turned out that the coolant reservoir was corroded to the point of bursting ... and I replaced it myself ... ya ... if yours finally goes, you'll know it. Coolant everywhere.

Re: Battery light and Brake Fail lights light at ignition

Thanks for all the replies,

The repair shop said that the back brakes were practically done but said nothing about a leak. Yeah, the alternator is probably dying. Even the seat belt not on siren practically dies when you start the car ...

I'll post how things work out when I get it repaired.

Re: 1989 240 DL Wagon Cluster lights not working

Thanks Chris, I just got the car yesterday to get me to and from work in the winter ... the wife has taken my s70 since the baby came along and I spun her Miata out the other day hence the (new to me) 240. So, no, I haven't seen them working in the past .. I'm gonna buy the Haynes manual ... hopeful...

Re: Barn full of 240 parts

If you have any drivers side tail lights for the 1989 240 DL Wagon I'd be interested ... and the plastic piece that covers the ignition wires is missing on mine also. What's the price and do you do Paypal?

1989 240 DL Wagon Cluster lights not working

Hi there, Any advice on how to get the cluster lights to work - assuming that is that the Cluster lights are the heater controls etc. The dash lights (the speedomoter etc) are on but no lights anywhere else. Maybe I have the two terms mixed up ... either way!!! R

Battery light and Brake Fail lights light at ignition

Hi All, I bought a 1989 240 DL wagon today, 259k miles, and when I start her up the battery light and the Brake Fail lights stay on on the dash until I rev for the first time. The brakes are very soft and my mechanic - who tested the car and advised I by it at the money - said there is air in there ...

Re: 2000 S70 GLT lower control arm - 2 or 4 bolt?

Thanks Lee. If I wasn't such a useless mechanic I'd try it myself but my wife won't let me touch steering or brakes ... and she's just right too.

2000 S70 GLT lower control arm - 2 or 4 bolt?

Hi there, So I just spoke with a guy who said that in order to replace the front lower ball joints on my 2000 S70 they had to replace the whole lower control arm and depending on whether it was a 4 or 2 bolt system it was $650 or $550 respectively. Does anyone know if a) that's a good price for this...

Re: Steering moaning and clunking - fluid leaking

Half a liter of ATF and it's running like a dream. All symptoms gone. I'll trace the leak back after this cold snap is over (So cold here in Oregon today) as I'm too thin blooded to work outside in these temperatures. If it's a new reservoir then I'll replace it myself. I just started working as a t...
