2001 S40 Unknown part leaking
There is a black round part a few inches in front of the power steering filler/reservoir that is leaking on my car. It's about 4 or 5 inches in diameter and is about 4 inches high. There is some brown fluid leaking out of the front base of this part. There is no apparent power steering leak. What is...

Re: 96 850 positive battery cables question
I had a mechanic install the cable for me. My car seemed fine for awhile but then I had the same issue with the car not starting. I used a tester light and removed fuses one at a time to try to find out if I had a battery drain. I discovered the locking system was draining the battery so I left the ...

Re: 850 - Where does this wire go?
I have 5 thinner wires going into the the wiring harness to the fuse box. 2 go the connector I first posted about which is poking up between the red wires in this photo. The other 3 go to something on the bottom of the battery tray - in the lower left hand corner of the photo. What the heck is it? I...

850 - Where does this wire go?
I have a 96 non-turbo station wagon with 144,000 miles on it. I was cleaning my battery cables and I noticed that there was a cable that was not connected to anything. It's the rusty one I'm holding in the picture. It splits off from the B+ cable, the one that goes to the fuse box, about 10 inches f...

Re: 96 850 positive battery cables question
OK, since I already bought the positive battery to starter cable I want to install it and then see what happens. The starter end of the cable seems to be inaccessible. What stuff should I remove to get to it? I don't want to tear out more than is necessary.
Thanks,
Bill

96 850 positive battery cables question
I've replaced my battery twice in the past 3 years due to it repeatedly going dead and having to be recharged so I decided to replace my positive battery cables. I'm going to get the B positive cable that goes to the fuse box from the dealer but I got this battery to starter cable: http://www.fcpgro...

Re: 2001 S40 turbo oil return line leak
oops, it's the lower engine cross member that has to come off for easier access, not the engine mount - that's what scared me off from this doing repair myself.

Pay someone else to do it which is what I did

I saw other posts that mention removing the lower engine mount to make the access easier.
Good luck!

Re: Droopy Sun Visor
I have this problem on the driver's side of a 2001 S40 so I got a new visor from the dealer. The wire with the electrical connector for the mirror light is about 12 inches long. It connects to the wiring harness too far down to pull out. Is there an easy way to take off the molding on the pillar to ...

Re: 2000 V40 headlights
Daytime running lights are at less than full power and not as bright as normal headlights. You don't want your daytime running lights on at night.
