he's actually on vaca. for the next two weeks, and i was just looking for estimates of what it could be so I could plan my next paycheck accordingly, if you know around what it could cost it would help out a lot

1997 base knuckle joint

Does anyone know how much it will run my to have the knuckle joint replaced behind the firewall. Parts? Labor? I have a local volvo guy that only runs about 45-50 an hour.

thanks for the comments....it doesn't hang up badly. Just feels sticky....if that makes sense. I know ball joints, tie rods, etc are all fine. I'm getting it looked at hopefully this week by my local guy. Just figured I'd try to get some idea of what it could be before I take it in. I'll post again ...

I have an 850 wagon, same thing happens to me, but only in the bitter cold. No engine mount problems and it goes away with the cold weather, so I never really worried about. Not that any of this helps you out too much, but I thought I'd give my 2 cents.

about your side note....i've had 2 850's one a turbo and one a base 5sp also my brother has a 95' glt wagon automatic.....all have static issues on am stations, all rev with the engine, and all cars are at 200K plus....i wouldn't worry or put to much thought into the engine feedback, seems to be com...

so, verdict is in.... no leaks, pcv system is fine....car is just burning it up. so if it goes through 2.5 quarts per 1000 miles do i keep and just fill it with oil, or ditch it and find something else. Does anyone know I don't fix it but keep the car am I looking at even bigger problems down the ro...

I only smell faint oil, but nothing unbelievable that I would consider odd. But there is a little smell. I also have noticed that as time goes on inbetween oil changes there is a ticking coming from the engine. Told it was the lifters, usually goes away when I add oil, or change it. but then comes b...

great, thanks again.....i'm bringing it in to my local guy this friday, hopefully good news.......if not I might ditch it, been nothing but one fix after another for the past two years, the amount of money i spent I could have bought something newer and probably better....too bad cause i like drivin...
