Re: Subwoofer

I don't mean to sound harsh, but, this is car audio 101... If your friend doesn't know why this is a bad plan, that friend probably shouldn't be working on your car. Believe it or not, he's an ASE certified mechanic. Unfortunately, when working on his own vehicles (or mine), he'll try to Ma...

Re: Subwoofer

Can you tell me the drawbacks to having too small a wire? Is it likely to keep blowing the fuse? Is there fire danger? My friend says there isn't, because it's powered through the fuse box. I need help arguing my point.

Thanks so much!

Re: Subwoofer

What about powering the amp using the supply to the power antenna, which I had my friend disconnect because it was hanging up all the time? I think it has a 25 amp fuse...

Re: 94 850 Turbo turned itself off (on the freeway!)

My mechanic says the only code is for the rear O2 sensor, which I haven't had a chance to replace yet.

It did it again over the weekend, but this time it was when I was idling in line at the bank.

94 850 Turbo turned itself off (on the freeway!)

Today I was driving to work on the freeway, doing about 65 mph, when my 850 lost power. It was so smooth, I didn't notice it at first -no stumbling, sputtering, bucking, or cutting out - just no power when I pressed the accelerator. The battery light flashed a few times and then stayed on, while I c...

Re: '94 850 Turbo oil leak

Just an update- replaced both O-rings on the dipstick and on the oil filler cap, and that seems to have taken care of it.

Thanks!

Re: Subwoofer

Hey guys - I've got the same situation with my 1994 850 Turbo. When he couldn't find easy access through the firewall, my shade tree mechanic friend mumbled something about using my cigarette lighter to hook up the wire coming from the amp in the trunk, and this really didn't seem like a good idea t...

850 Turbo '94 cracked turbo air distribution hose

Just noticed that the hard plastic small diameter hose that FCP calls the "Turbo Air Distribution Hose" is just about to fall apart in the accordian-type section. New one is only $12.97, but I'm wondering if I should duct tape it until the part arrives.

Thanks!

'94 850 Turbo -Universal vs. OE fit O2 Sensors (both Bosch)

Hi - I need to replace the front O2 sensor on my 94 850 Turbo, and found one at Autozone that is a universal, made by Bosch, for half the price of the OE fit one. I'm guessing that the universal one might be a little more work to install, which is not a problem for my mechanic friend. Is there any r...

'94 850 Turbo oil leak

Hi -I recently replaced my '89 240 (that had 286,000 miles on it) with a '94 850 Turbo with 110,000. My mechanic friend, who became an expert through the years working on my many 240's, is becoming more familiar with my new ride, but still learning. He tells me that he's isolated a very small oil le...
