Easy Peasy to deal with the service light on a 1998 V70R. Just remove the under desk cover and driver knee protection. Reach up inside, and remove the bulb.

Done. Registered.

Okay it's been three weeks now since I replaced that vacuum line. CEL came back once after three days and I cleared it. Been good ever since. Gas mileage back up to where it should be.

The gas mileage on my 98 V70R had been dropping a bit, and then it started throwing that P0172 code. I found one disconnected vac line (the one to the sensor above the radiator) but P0172 came back. My experience on my V70R and previous 740 Turbo is that the shaft gets rusted and seizes within the nylon sleeve. Disassembly is straight forward. Thoroughly sand off t.he rust and corrosion from the shaft, and reassemble with a good waterproof lightweight grease. Lube all moving parts and joints ...

Installed a trailer hitch, and replaced the rear stays. Corrosion on the inner stay bolts, plus apparent swelling of the inner bushing made the job a b. Amazing how weak the old stays had become.
