I have had a recurring problem with a wire connecting the alternator to the battery. I own a 1986 240 wagon. 240 not shifting into high
I know that this has been asked and I have looked at some of the responses but just so I'm clear... I have a 1986 240. I never drive with the OD engaged (ie the orange arrow is never illumated) because when it's on it won't go into high gear (Am I minunderstanding OD-does the arrow indicate OD is on...

Buying 1986 240 - any words of wisdom/warning
I am thinking about buying a 1986 240 wagon with 150000 miles for $1300. Body and interior are in excellent shape. Test drives fine. Just concerned about how long the engine's gonna last. Any words of experience would be appreciated
