Re: Exhaust Leak, 850, Real Loud Now.
I have a 1997 Volvo 850. I'm having a continuing exhaust leak at the catalytic converter - muffler connection. The converter was replaced because of a PO429 code and that problem was solved.A new clamp was used and the muffler pipe was still in good shape with no deformation or was not too rusty. No...

Re Growling noise
Thanks Ozark Lee
Luckily, I doubt it's any of the costly items you mentioned. I get the noise all the time the key is in the on position, even when the engine isn't running. I'll check out the atmospheric pressure sensor in the morning,

Thanks for the responses. I have replaced the secondary air pump and valve about 10K ago. At first I thought it had gone bad again, but on inspection its good. Also wrong side as mentioned, but I double checked to be sure it wasn't coming from the pump ( sounded similar). Any other components on the...

1997 850 Growling noise
I'm getting a growling sound on the front R side behind the headlight. It happens when the ignition switch is turned on and the engine is off. It continues when the engine is running? Any ideas what it is? It almost sounds like a bad bearing noise.

Heater Core
 :? Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the heater core and evaporator are the first thing Volvo puts in the car when they build it. Unless you are an advance intermediate mechanic don't try it. It will take a FULL day. You need to take out both airbags and disconnect the steering column. G...

S80 Drivers side mirror
I need to locate a drivers mirror for a 2000 Volvo S80.
Dealers price was out of side. Anyone know where to find one at a reasonable price?
Thanks for any help.

Heater core.
Unless you are a very very skilled do it yourselfer, it's a job for the professionals. You have to remove the entire dash to get access to the heater core (and A/C evaporator). The part is not expensive (less than $100), but the job takes about 8 hours. You have to remove the steering wheel and airb...

Volvo mechanic.
The best(and most reasonable) mechanic in Princeton area is Art's Garage. He has recently relocated to Ewing. He has been my mechanic for the last 10 years. The phone number is 609-530-1499. As the responder above recommended get the timing belt checked ASAP. The $4500 cost for a new head is very re...
