98 V 70 GLT Turbo Wagon Leather

https://post.craigslist.org/imagepreview/n/3n53k33pc5W45X15R6a4ebb2a7d9646501067.jpg Volvo has a great reputation as a safe car, this one runs well and has plenty of power. This car has the 2.4l turbo, which is know to be a very long running motor. I bought it in January of 09, and spent nearly the...

98 Volvo V70 heater core & AC Evap, misc new in box

I ordered this stuff last Fall, and the window for returns at FCP Groton has passed. I have some health problems and will be selling the car rather then continuing to work out the kinks... These are new in the box, here is the list from my sales invoice; (all parts ordered for 98 V70 GLT). Volvo V70...

Re: SAS system options on 1998 S70 T5

Oh Oh Oh!!! Mister Carter! Oh Oh! (dated cultural reference, I know). The answer has to do with ohm's law. The resistor only causes a voltage drop when a current is passing though it. Most DMM's present a 'load' of almost nothing. If you had an old sweep dial simpson 260, you would see the voltage ...

Re: Where Do You Take Your Spent Fluids?

I recycle my used transmission fluid and motor oil without the middle man.

I filter them and pour them directly into the fuel tank of my 84 F-250. It has an International Harvester 6.9l Indirect injection diesel. It will pretty much burn anything that will fit into the fuel tank.

V70, 98, What actually sets the P0410 code?

Ok, The P0410 code is know to all to be the supplimental air sustem. This system consists of a pump, a check valve, some hose and a pump control relay.... at least these are the failure points I have identified in prior posts. Does anyone know what actually triggers the code to set? I am thinking th...

Re: Broken serpentine belt

I would also take a look at the AC compressor. Of course you will have to install a new belt to check it. The ac compressor may turn just fine with the car off, and also with the car running without the ac / defrost being on. If the compressor is seized it could brake the belt and still turn fine wh...

Re: Thermostat

Amazing, I was getting a P0116 code so I bought a new sensor. I really did not think it was bad, as the dash read out was pretty linear from start up.... but since I read they go bad I figured it was time. I removed the sensor, and it looked ok, it was stamped 'Volvo' but the car had been dealer ma...
