A/C Clutch Bearing Number/Size?
I am pretty sure I hear a noise from my A/C Clutch - going to have to do something about it. I have seen around the internet (mostly youtube - south main auto and Eric the Car Guy) discuss A/C clutch repair before and they've showed how often it's just the bearing that goes out, and the rest of the ...

Re: How many miles ya got?
I've currently got 302k kms (~188k miles) on my 2008 XC70 (P3) (I've put on 30k kms) I had about 400k kms (almost 250k miles) on my 1998 V70 AWD when I had to give it up (I put about 200k kms on this one I think) . I had about 450k kms (almost 280k miles) on my 1986 760 when I had to give it up (I p...

Re: leaking windshield washer fluid reservoir
I actually pulled this apart on my car about 6 months ago. The wheel well is fastened to the front clip and lower shield (?) and if you start removing fasteners there in the corner you will eventually get enough of it apart to look at the reservoir and the little lines attached to it. In my case one...

Re: fuel filter?
I spoke with an indy volvo mechanic I am friendly with and he said there is no replaceable filter - it's built in to the pump assembly. So 'replacing' it would mean dropping the fuel tank for one thing, which is a bit of work (!!). Also it essentially means that replacing the fuel filter means repla...

Re: Aux Belt and Alternator "Rubber Connection" service interval
I spoke with an indy volvo mechanic I am friendly with and he said this must refer to the special wide belt that is used to drive the alternator. From what I've been able to find in VIDA thus far I'd say this whole thing with the engine aux take-off and the belts to drive the accessories is a bit co...

Aux Belt and Alternator "Rubber Connection" service interval
Hi all, I've recently been reviewing the service program for my new-to-me 2008 XC70 with 275k km/170k miles. It lists the following items: Auxilliary Belt, Belt Tensioner, Idler Pulley, Clutch, Guide Pins - replace according to the service program or - replace at a maximum 10 year interval Rubber Co...

fuel filter?
Hi all, do these cars have semi-easily replaceable fuel filters? I've been searching the parts diagrams and looking through VIDA for info on how to change the fuel filter and can't find anything. My car is a 2008 so it's basically 10 years old now and has 275k kms/170k miles on it - maybe time to ch...

Re: Accelerator Pedal Codes - P012023 P012038
Judging from the wiring information and the pedal assembly codes I guessed there is some kind of fancy PWM signal directly to the ECM and a lower resolution 'backup' signal over CAN to the CEM. I focused on the PWM set of wires on the accelerator pedal assembly. The CAN bus wires seem to be working ...

Re: Four C Suspension Swap
Four C suspension was available on 2004+ P2 cars and a LOT of P3 cars in NA came with it. I had envisioned the solution would be something with 2 aspects: 1 -something to plug in where the solenoid on the shocks connect to fool the Four C computer into thinking they're there and doing what they are ...
