How's your fuel economy? I noticed a marked dip in mine when I got a CEL for a front O2 sensor. Replaced the sensor and air filter and I was back to 30 MPG highway.

I never paid attention to my mileage until I got a code for my O2 sensor and started paying attention to it. I've since replaced the sensor and did not get the improvement in my efficiency that I had expected. That is why I'm trying so hard now to locate other causes. As far as my MAS is concerned, ...

It is a '98 S70 GLT with 95,000 miles. I do have a code (P0410-secondary air injection malfunction) but I don't know if it is indicative of fuel efficiency. I don't believe it to be a MAF because it checked out just fine recently. Thanks for your response to this post as well as my other one about t...

terrible gas mileage

In this age of rising gas prices, my terrible gas mileage has me vexed. I'm looking for a list of items that I can maintain that will keep me in the upper 20's range of the precious MPG. Right now I'm right around 10-15 city. So far, I have this short list of items that can affect mileage: 1- O2 sen...

New code-P0410

I recently changed my O2 sensor after my CEL came on and I pulled a OBD11 code for it. Now, a day later, I got the CEL again and a new code-P0410-secondary air injection system malfunction. Through a bit of research I came up a cause- an SAS valve that is stuck open causing water to be allowed into ...

Not to sound ignorant because the name pretty much gives it away, but what exactly does an oil separator do?

I used the kit from an auto parts store and I had cold AC for the summer before it bled back down. I don't know how many times you can recharge it though before doing more damage than just a leak. Anybody know?

Is my tranny in trouble?

Last night I experienced something I never have before in my '94 850 (automatic). The light turned green and I pressed the accelerator but the car did not accelerate nearly as quickly as it usually does. After every light, the same thing. On the longest stretch between lights, I actually got up to s...

Another quick O2 sensor question

Another quick O2 sensor question. All of the parts websites that I visit recommend that when changing the pre-cat sensor you should also change both the front and rear wires. They say it is a Volvo recommendation but is it really necessary? Or is this just another attempt to sell more parts? I found...
