Another quick O2 sensor question

Post by smithy »

Another quick O2 sensor question. All of the parts websites that I visit recommend that when changing the pre-cat sensor you should also change both the front and rear wires. They say it is a Volvo recommendation but is it really necessary? Or is this just another attempt to sell more parts? I found the sensor for $150. Other than Ebay, which is a little slim on O2 sensors right now, does anybody know of a cheaper one. I'm beginning to hate this little sensor!

In '97 Volvo added a short lenght of 4 wire contuctor to the O2 sensors From what I have read if replacing the sensor(s) add the wire extension. Remember you need to know standard or auto with or without airpump turbo or none. There are suppliers that sell other than "Bosch" who is the OEM for volvo
